Reaching Out to Ontario

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Ontario’s Information and Privacy Commissioner is coming to the Sault Area Hospital this September to commemorate Right to Know Week. This special event will highlight the ongoing evolution to more transparent and accountable government in all parts of the province. Celebrated in more than 40 countries around the world, Right to Know Week promotes the enormous benefits of Open Government. The Commissioner will also take this opportunity to speak about the important issues surrounding health privacy.

Understanding Your Right to Know

On Sept. 28, join the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario and Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) for a chat about the power of Open Data and Access to Information. Right to Know Week is celebrated the week of September 28 to October 2 this year. To recognize the public's right to know, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta will be hosting two half-day forums. The first is in Calgary on September 29 and the second is in Edmonton on October 1. The events will also provide an opportunity to celebrate 20 years of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act in Alberta, which fittingly came into force on October 1, 1995.
