DIALOGUE ON
MODERNIZING ACCESS TO INFORMATION
The Office of the Information Commissioner is extending the period for submitting comments on modernizing the access to information regime until August 31, 2008.
The Commissioner is welcoming comments from anyone with an interest to share their ideas towards modernization and reform in three key areas:
- Creating and maintaining a culture of access in federal institutions;
- Bringing the administration regime up to date with processes and tools that facilitate access to information; and
- Modernizing the Access to Information Act to promote open, effective and accountable government.
Visit Public Comments on our website to view three special consultation papers examining themes, issues and solutions to the challenges facing the access to information regime.
Please submit your comments at consultation@infocom.gc.ca no later than August 31, 2008 (the deadline has been extended). All submissions will be made available on the web, except when confidentiality is requested.
